Waylon Thomas age 75, of Bloomburg, Texas went to be with the Lord Tuesday, April 4, 2017 in a local hospital.

Waylon was born March 5, 1942 in Bloomburg, Texas to Cosby and Allie Mae Thomas. He was retired from the Texas Department of Transportation and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. He loved spending time with family and gardening. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Paul Thomas and a brother, Travis Thomas.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret Thomas of Bloomburg, Texas; a son, Jeffery Thomas and girlfriend Jennifer of Bloomburg, Texas; grandson, Dustin Thomas and wife Brooke of Queen City, Texas; two great-grandchildren, Dai’lynn and Arturo both of Queen City, Texas; sister-in-law, Wanda Thomas of Hughes Springs, Texas; nieces, Donna Hayes and Rhonda Sheffield and a number of other relatives.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Friday, April 7, 2017 at New Hope Baptist Church, under the direction of Hanner Funeral Service with Bro. David Baxley and Bro. Donald Sheffield officiating.

Visitation will be Thursday, April 6, 2017 from 6 pm to 8 pm at Hanner Funeral Service.

Interment will be in New Hope Cemetery.

Waylon was a very sweet person whom I had the pleasure of knowing all his life. I had fond memories with he and his brother, Travis, during our years attending Bloomburg School. He will be missed here on earth, but not forgotten!
